One Injured as SUVs Crash in West Hempstead

Lakeview firefighters and EMS respond to accident at busy intersection.

Two SUVs collided Sunday morning at the intersection of Hempstead Avenue and Cornwell Avenue in West Hempstead.

Lakeview volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel responded quickly to the scene to assist the occupants of both vehicles. One person was injured and transported by fire department ambulance to Winthrop Hospital.

The crash also caused a fluid spill in the road, which was controlled by firefighters.
