Pedestrian Struck Outside West Hempstead Stop & Shop

Injured transported to hospital Thursday.

Nassau County Police were investigating the circumstances of an accident Thursday night involving a pedestrian, who was struck by a car in West Hempstead.

West Hempstead volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel were called to Cherry Valley Avenue, just outside the Stop & Shop parking lot, Thursday around 4:45 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle possibly involved in the accident remained at the scene while the injured man was transported to Winthrop Hospital by fire department ambulance. 

No further details were released.
