Police: Group Attacks, Robs Lakeview Pedestrian

Six men beat a 40-year-old victim in Lakeview before robbing him Sunday night.

A 40-year-old man walking home in Lakeview Sunday night was attacked and robbed by a group of six, say police.

Around 9:40 p.m., detectives for Nassau County Police's Fifth Squad say the 40-year-old victim encountered two unknown black men standing in his driveway when arrived at his home on Jefferson Avenue on Aug. 7. One of the subjects allegedly asked him for money and then punched him in the face, police reported.

When the victim attempted to enter his home, cops say he was attacked from behind by four unknown male black subjects and stripped of the shopping bag that he had been carrying, which contained a pair of sneakers.

The subjects fled on foot in the direction of Langdon Boulevard. The victim sustained a contusion to his right forearm.
