Police Investigating Local Bank Robbery Attempt

Nassau County Police said they are investigating a bank robbery attempt which occurred Tuesday morning at Dime Savings Bank on West Merrick Road in Valley Stream. 

At 9:39 a.m., police said that a subject entered the bank and handed a demand note to a teller. After several seconds, the subject fled the bank without any proceeds and was last observed on foot westbound on West Merrick Road, according to police. 

No injuries were reported and there were five employees and no customers present at the time of the robbery, police said. 

The subject is described by police as a male black in his 30's, with scruffy facial hair, wearing a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt and eyeglasses. 

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Seems there's more bank robberies on Long Island these days than there were back in the days of Willie Sutton and Bonnie and Clyde. Hope they catch Robbery Bob soon.

Another Heroin addict--non violent who is in need of emergency MEDICAL TRATMENT but Nassau county has NO emergency treatment!! This type of bank robbery has been a Heroin Addicts MO for the last 4 years in Nassau County!! The police have the stats--most go to DRUG COURT (A REAL JOKE) The main player the Judge has no knowledge of the Disease of addiction Nassau county is a mess-drug court Judge recently sentenced a Non Violent addict to 8 Years!! SALE 1 Bag of Dope $10.00!! The Judge DA TASC don't communicate at all!!
