Police Seeking Info on West Hempstead Bank Robber

The same man allegedly robbed two banks in eight days.

Nassau County Police are still searching for the man who on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead on Nov. 14.

According to police, just eight days later on Nov. 22, the same man robbed the Roslyn Savings Bank on S. Main Street in Freeport.

The suspect approached teller, passed a demand note and used verbal demands, police said. The suspect also used the threat of a gun in his note and verbally.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s, clean-shaven, approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with dark skin, a black hat and a black hooded sweat shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robberies to contact Crime Stoppers toll free hotline at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477) or Nassau County’s Robbery Squad at 516-573-8044. All callers will remain anonymous.
