Reward Offered in Search For West Hempstead Stop & Shop Thief

Crime Stoppers and Nassau County Police seek public's help.

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly stole from the Stop & Shop in West Hempstead twice in June.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered in exchange for information leading to the arrest of the man pictured above. Police say this subject is wanted for petit larceny.

They say he was observed on two separate dates inside the located at 50 Cherry Valley Avenue in West Hempstead. On June 11 at approximately 10:30 p.m., the man allegedly removed cosmetic items valued at $357.12 from the store without paying for them, according to police.

The next day, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police say the subject allegedly walked out with about $100 worth of chewing gum without paying.
