Cops:Driver Fled After Crashing Into West Hempstead Home
The driver who veered off the road Sunday morning and into a house on Dogwood Avenue fled the scene of the crash.
The driver of a sports car that barrelled into a West Hempstead home Sunday morning fled the scene of the crash, according to cops.
The car was heading down Dogwood Avenue around 5 a.m. on March 13 when it left the roadway and slammed into the side of a house on the corner of Western Park Drive.
The crash awoke the stunned the occupants of the home, but the driver had already fled the scene. The stunned homeowner stood watching in disbelief as firefighters from the Franklin Square and Munson Department checked for possible injured occupants and structural damage.

Nassau County Police were on the scene investigating the circumstances behind the accident. They are still searching for the driver and ask anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
