Nassau County Police charged a Franklin Square man Tuesday with a string of burglaries is his own community and a burglary attempt in West Hempstead.
Asset Forfeiture CIRRT Task Force detectives with the assistance of the Fifth Squad and the Asset Forfeiture Criminal Intelligence Analysts arrested Christopher Pettey, 28, and charged him with five counts of second-degree Burglary.
Cops say Pettey attempted to rob a home on Baldwin Drive in West Hempstead on Aug. 20. but was met by the homeowner and fled the scene with no proceeds.
That same day, police say, Pettey stole assorted jewelry from a home on Claflin Boulevard and another on Rintin Street in Franklin Square. Pettey is also responsible for burglarizing two other Franklin Square homes, stealing jewelry from a home on Propp Avenue on Aug. 8 and cash and prescription medicine from a Ribbon Street home on Aug. 4, according to police.
Pettey will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
