'Suspicious' Car Fire in Lakeview Under Investigation

Nassau County Fire Marshal called to the scene Tuesday night.

A car fire in Lakeview Tuesday night is being labeled "suspicious," according to police and fire officials.

Around 9 p.m. Nassau County Police and Lakeview firefighters responded to the report of a fire inside a silver Chevrolet Camaro that had been parked in a small lot on Woodfield Road near the Lakeview train station and a small strip of stores.

Upon their arrival, the fire had already been put out with a fire extinguisher by one of the nearby store owners, according to Lakeview Fire Chief Heather Senti.

The fire itself was small and quickly contained, but Senti says, "It was suspicious in nature."

The Nassau County Fire Marshal was called in to investigate.
