Teens Robbed While Answering Facebook Ad

Two teenagers beaten and robbed in Lakeview when they answered an ad for an iPhone 5 for sale.

Two teens were beaten and robbed when they answered a Facebook ad for an iPhone 5, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said an 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old male went to Jefferson Avenue in Lakeview after seeing an ad on Facebook for the sale of an iPhone 5.

When they got to the location where they were planning on buying the phone, the two were approached by six unidentified men, cops reported. The 18-year-old was struck in the face and the thieves took a phone, cash, headphones, wallet, and sneakers from the two teens, police said. The group fled in an unknown direction.

The incident happened at 11:49 p.m. Thursday, cops said.

The 18-year-old was treated at the scene for an injured nose, police said.

The subjects were described as black males aged 20-25 years. Subject 1 wore a dark zippered hoodie. Subject 2 wore black sneakers, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black skullcap. Subject 3 wore a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and wore a bandana over his face. Subject 4 had an orange sweatshirt, black shorts, and a bandana over his face. No description was given for the other two subjects.
