A wayward box truck smashed into the Eagle Avenue overpass on the Southern State Parkway at exit 18 early Sunday evening.
The rear box portion of the truck was torn apart and the front driver's section was left about two feet off of the ground after the impact.
Mother's Day traffic in the eastbound lanes was reduced to one lane while New York State Police cleared the area.
Lakeview firefighters and EMS personnel were also on the scene along with Nassau County Police.
