The collision took place around 7 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the parkway just east of Hempstead Avenue. The Lakeview Fire Department responded with 15 members, but when they arrived they found the occupants of both vehicles were able to escape themselves and there were no flames or potential fire hazards present.

"There were no fluids leaking that could ignite," said Lakeview Fire Chief Michael Joyce.
