VIDEO: Malverne Celebrates Century of Fire Service
Residents cheer as local volunteer firefighters parade down main street.
The Malverne Volunteer Fire Department marked its 100th birthday last weekend with a parade through the village.
Residents of all ages cheered as firefighters of the Fourth Battalion marched down Hempstead Avenue accompanied by bands and classic and contemporary fire engines.
As the parade concluded, families and firefighters continued the celebration with a block party complete with food, refreshments and music.
