West Hempstead Cars Vandalized in Overnight Spree

West Hempstead is the third town where cars have been damaged in the last week.

Six cars had their windshields or windows broken Thursday night in West Hemsptead.

According to Nassau County detectives, between Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 10 a.m., six different cars on five different blocks had either their windshield or window smashed.

The cars were as follows:

  • The rear windshield of a 2006 Honda was broken while parked on Park Avenue.
  • A 2010 Dodge had its rear window broken and a drill and drill bits removed on Arden Boulevard.
  • On Wilson Street, a 2005 Audi had its windshield broken.
  • The rear windshield of a 2009 Nissan was broken on Maple Street.
  • A 2007 Nissan on Jackson Avenue had its window broken.
  • The windshield of a 2006 Hyundai was broken while parked on Arden Boulevard.

According to police, the investigation is still ongoing and there is no word on whether or not this rash of damage is related to a recent in which 20 cars were damaged or a in which six cars were damaged.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives request anyone with information regarding these crimes to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

You need a problem to see a cop, and its always after the fact.. Maybe they should earn their future pensions by doing their jobs and patrolling all the areas they are supposed to be protecting instead of sitting in their cars in a parking lot somewhere....

Come on are you serious? The 20 cars this happened to in massapequa have NOTHING to do with this? Just like the spree of cars sitting on BRICKS in west hempstead had nothing to do with the exact same crimes that hit massapequa right after WH right?? It amazes me that the only time I see a police vehicle in WH is if I drive to either the gulf gas station on Nassau blvd or the fire dept on the turnpike. All while hard working ppl are falling victim to these imbisles that find enjoyment in vandalizm... Yeah let's shut down the 5th.... Because THAT makes total sense.

Don't you people realize it's the cops breaking peoples car windows. Threatening our elected officials has not worked. We now need protection from our protectors.
