At least two people were injured following a two-vehicle collision in West Hempstead Monday afternoon.
The incident occrred at the intersetion of Hempstead Turnpike and Walnut Street.
According to witnesses at the scene, on SUV ended up on the sidewalk on the north side of the road, which the second car careened just short of a beverage store on the south side of the road.

West Hempstead firefighters and EMS personnel were on the scene along with Nassau County police and EMS.
Traffic along Hempstead Turnpike had to be diverted to side street while the area was cleared.
