West Hempstead Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

Suspect makes off with cash and cigarettes from OK Gas Station on Hempstead Avenue.

A West Hempstead gas station was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning, according to Nassau Police.

According to detectives, a 44-year-old male employee was working alone at the OK Gas Station located at 151 Hempstead Avenue when he was approached by a male suspect around 4 a.m.

The suspect displayed what appeared to be a gun and demanded cash and cigarettes, police said. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot westbound towards Westminster Road.

There were no injuries reported.
