Though I may be a little shy at first, once I make friends with someone, I love them forever. I may be more comfortable with women than men.
Though it’s not easy to tell in a shelter environment, it is suspected that I may exhibit territorial behavior in the home, more out of insecurity than anything else, but my family can help me with this.

Because of my shyness, I’m not terribly playful now, but I’m ready to learn; Once in the home, no doubt I’ll flourish! I tolerate all types of handling. I was so worried during my behavior evaluation that I couldn’t eat so I couldn’t be evaluated for resource guarding.
I get a little scared of unusual new things and people, so I may choose to hide behind you. My adopters will need to patiently introduce me to new experiences that concern me so that I can get more comfortable with them.
I have not been evaluated with other dogs yet, though I have lived with other dogs in the past. I would be best as an only pet.
I am learning the "sit" command, and do it nicely for my favorite treat. I would be best in a dog-experienced, adult-only home with guardians who will provide training and structure for me and who can help build my confidence through love and understanding.
I am house-trained, up-to-date on vaccines and I've already been altered. I will also be microchiped upon adoption. Please come down to the shelter and check me out today!
