Adoptable Animals of the Week: Meet Wisdom

This personable pooch is looking for a loving family.

Name: Wisdom

Case Number: #5942

Hello. My name is Wisdom and I am a sweet, laid-back chap. Right now, I'm living at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, but I'm looking forward to the day I can meet my new forever family. Here's what you need to know about me!

While I’m personable with just about everyone, my personality really blossoms when I’m with my special people. I enjoy playing with people, and though I’m not terribly playful with toys now, I may become more so once in the home.

I tolerate all types of handling and will readily share my resources with people.
I get a little scared of unusual new things and people, and I may 'woof' at them to keep them at bay, but I look to my human companion for direction. My adopters should seek a certified professional trainer who can help me accept new experiences that concern me, so that I can get more comfortable with them.

Due to my shyness, I may be more comfortable in a household of teenagers and up. I may get a little sad if scolded, but I accept apology readily.
I'm not much interested in other dogs; I don’t want anything to do with them. I’m really a more people-centric pooch.

I have already had some training (sit, down, stay, come and more) and am eager to learn more for a taste of my favorite treats! I am proud to say that I walk very nicely on the leash. Training will help us forge a relationship.
