Bader Re-Elected Water Commissioner

Incumbent wins by nearly a 2-1 margin in Plainview Water District vote.

Incumbent Water Commission member Andrew Bader was easily re-elected Tuesday to another three-year term at the Plainview Water District.

Bader, currently serving as chairman of the board, defeated challenger Joseph Scarpa, a certified public accountant from Old Bethpage, by nearly a 2-1 margin.

Bader earned 397 votes; Scarpa received 217 votes.

"I'm very thankful for the faith the community has entrusted in me," Bader said Tuesday night. "I will try even harder in my second term to preserve and protect the quality of our water district."

Water commissioners oversee the operation of Plainview's Water District.

Bader has been on the board for the past three years and has been highly visible in the community. Bader has stressed the board's ongoing improvements to the water district.

Scarpa has advocated for water testing that goes beyond existing quality requirements.

WOW! Another close vote at Plainview's Posh Country Club. Why hasn't the state gotten rid of all these specialty districts yet? More tax payer money thrown in the toilet

Congratulations Andrew Bader-- The POB community re-elected the right man. Andrew is a pillar of our community and will continue to work hard to serve us.

What does the water commissioner do that justifies a paycheck? why do we need more than one water commissioner in Nassau county? A waste of our tax dollars. How is it that we only need one person in charge of sanitation for the T.O.B but every town needs a water commissioner. more wasted tax dollars
