Cat Adoption Fees Waived, Town Board Meeting

A weekly look-in at news from around the Town of Hempstead.

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh is waiving adoption fees for cats on June 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of national "Adopt A Shelter Cat Month."

According to the town, charges will also be waived for spaying, neutering, rabies vaccinations and microchipping. Raffle tickets and baked goods will be available for purchase to benefit The Tails of Hope Fund, which helps finance medical costs for sick animals.

Town Board Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday

The Hempstead Town Board is scheduled to hold its next meeting on June 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Town board meetings are held in the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, adjacent to Hempstead Town Hall at 1 Washington St. in Hempstead.
