Hempstead Town Opens Cooling Centers, Extends Pool Hours

With the National Weather Service predicting temperatures in the 90s by midweek, the Town of Hempstead announced the opening of town cooling centers and extension of pool hours from Tuesday through Friday.

"Our cooling centers offer our residents a comfortable chance to relax and escape the heat wave," said Supervisor Kate Murray. "Also, many of our town pools are staying open later than usual to give more residents a chance to cool down and refresh themselves after a long day in the heat."

The following town cooling centers are open to the public between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.:
