Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) will be hosting a Women of Distinction event Saturday at the Lynbrook Library to highlight 14 women who have "gone above and beyond the call of civic engagement and community outreach to make Nassau County and the 21st Assembly District a better place."
The local women being honored are: Barbara Barnhart and Jane Grogan of Lynbrook, Sister Ruthanne Gypalo of East Rockaway, Sheila Norris and Marie-Antoinette Vitelli of Malverne, and Heather Senti of West Hempstead.
Curran’s keynote speaker for this
event is Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray and welcoming remarks by
Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano.
“The selflessness and dedication these women have shown to our community is an uplifting example of devotion to our area and residents. It is my honor to show them this small token of recognition for the hard work and perseverance they have showed for our community,” said Curran.
The ceremony starts 12 p.m. at the library, located at 56 Eldert Street.
