Lynbrook Village Board Agenda: Oct. 1

See what's on the agenda for tonight's meeting and work session.

The Lynbrook village board will meet at 7 p.m. tonight for a work session followed by its October regular business meeting at 8 p.m.

During the work session, village officials plan to revist the Sons of Italy's request to hold a holiday flea market in the village this November and December. They'll also consider a request for a demolition permit for three properties -- 3 and 9 Merton Ave. and 417 Ocean Ave. -- which are homes currently owned by the Holiday Inn Express.* Also, on the agenda is a public hearing on a proposal local law pertaining to building heights, the sale of a fire pumper and two contracts with the Department of Public Works.

Three proclamations, including a tribute to the late Lynbrook Schools Chief Dr. Santo Barbarino, will be handed out during the 8 p.m. business meeting. The board will also make a decision on a special use permit for 140 Merrick Road and handle four other requests.

Why does Lynbrood Board of Tristees have more respect for its residents than does the Malverne Village Board of Trustees. The Malverne Village Trustees never publish an agenda and continues to operate, in my opinion, as a star chamber.

Bill - The grass is always greener on the side. The saying certainly applies here, trust me.
