Malverne Historical Society Installs New Slate of Officers

Celebrates 16th anniversary of opening of Joseph L. Landers Memorial Restoration home.

The  swore in a new set of officers on June 10 as it celebrated the 16th anniversary of the opening the Joseph L. Landers Memorial Restoration home.

The house, which dates back to 1854, was purchased through a generous donation to the Society from Jeanne L. Landers and was named after her late husband, Joseph, a Malverne resident of 43 years who was very active in the village. The restored two-story home gives visitors a feel of what some of the neighborhood's oldest homes looked like and showcases various artifacts of Malverne's history.

Malverne Mayor Patricia Norris McDonald did the honors of administrating the oath of office to the new executive board, which includes:

President - Robert Powers

First Vice President - Phil Ballin

Second Vice President - Rosalie Pampillonia

Treasurer - Joseph Hennessy

Secretary - Toni Sussman

Photographer - Vito Ilardi

Trustees - Ed Hassel, Tricia Cook, John Soran, Candy Baranello
