Malverne Mayor Shares Her Story, Love of Village

From her political upbringing, her husband's 1986 shooting and her love of the village that she serves, Mayor Patricia Norris McDonald shared her story and showcased Malverne on the small screen this month.

McDonald was the focus of a segment filmed by FIOS1, part of the network's Money and Main$treet/Eye of the Island series. In the video package, McDonald talks about how her father inspired her to pursue politics, how her life changed when her husband, NYPD Det. Stephen McDonald, was shot , and how she works with the village board to keep Malverne prosperous and preserve its charm.

"Life can sometimes be challenging," Norris McDonald told reporter Tamani Wooley. "...But I truly feel very privledged to be in the position that I'm in and feel very blessed to have the support from my family and the support of residents in this community because this is a phenomenal village, we have phenomenal residents and I love this community."
