Malverne Village Announces Snow Closures, Parking Changes

Malverne Mayor Patricia Norris McDonald sent out a robocall to residents Tuesday afternoon, announcing closures, delayed openings and parking changes due to the impending snowstorm. 

Here are the announcements:

- There will be no on-street parking from 7 p.m. Tuesday through midnight Wednesday. 

- Overnight on street parking permits are temporarily suspended.

- Residents can park in any municipal lot free of charge.

- For questions, call 599 3141. Emergencies, call 911.

-  Please clear fire hydrants. 

-  To help public works, don't shovel snow onto roadways.

- No sanitation on Wednesday, but village-wide pickup will be Thursday, Jan. 23. 

- Friday sanitation and recycling still on Friday.

- Village Hall will have delayed opening at 12 p.m. Wednesday.

The snowstorm is expected to slam the Long Island and New York area Tuesday, with up to 14 inches of snow expected in some areas and arctic cold temperatures across the region.
