Nassau Police on High Alert for 9/11

NCPD: If you see something, say something.

The Nassau County Police Department announced Friday afternoon that it is in a state of "heightened awareness" as the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaches.

Acting Commissioner Thomas Krumpter said that Nassau Police have been preparing for the anniversary for weeks. Extra patrol units, along with officers in full tactical gear, will be on duty over the course of the next few days across the county and at places such as train stations and malls.

"If you see something, say something," Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said. "...Be alert, help watch our turf, stay safe and enjoy the weekend."
