Patch Poll: Parking in Malverne's Business District?
Parking issues have been aired in light of a new business proposed for the village. Where do you stand?
A on Hempstead Avenue into a 114-seat restaurant with basement offices was met with concerns from Malverne officials, merchants and residents last month regarding parking.
They questioned a parking study presented by an engineer hired by the applicants seeking approval from the village board and said that lack of parking is already a problem in the business district. A problem they said would get much worse, hurting existing merchants and affecting the quality of life for residents, if the proposed businesses were allowed.
