PHOTOS: Santino Stops by Local Memorial Day Celebrations

Santino drops by annual ERFD dinner and Memorial Day celebrations.

On May 25, Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino, Legislator Fran Becker and village officials joined the officers and members of the East Rockaway Fire Department for their annual testimonial dinner. The department and dignitaries honored Ex-Chief Peter Chojnacki at this well-attended affair.

Santino and East Rockaway Mayor Fran Lenahan presented Chojnacki with the ex-chief's badge in honor of his dedicated service to the department and on behalf of all area residents.

On May 28, Santino was joined by Senator Dean Skelos and Assemblyman Brian Curran at the Howard-Lathrop Post No. 2307 VFW Memorial Day services outside the post where fallen members of the armed forces, current servicemen and women as well as all our nation's veterans were honored for protecting our liberty and fighting for our freedoms.

Also on May 28, Santino and Lenahan were joined by village officials and East Rockaway community leaders to kick-off the area's annual Memorial Day Parade commemorating our community veterans, past and present, as well as current members of the military who fought to protect our freedom.

That’s very nice that school districts that have the highest school taxes and costs, areRead More receiving additional money. The problem is that our state is in dire financial trouble and we can’t afford it. Upstate NY is a distressed disaster. How much more taxes are we going to pay?. Hear those feet marching out of state. Try fighting for drilling so we have jobs and revenue.

.......there they go again whitewashing a dilemma they don't want to touch......unconscionableRead More salaries and pensions paid by the taxpayer for incompetence? Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
