Question of the Day: Ferry Progress

How do you feel about how the project is coming along? Is the anticipation building?

After in the last two years, Phase I of the Ferry Terminal Project is complete and the next phase is set to get underway.

Last week, the city announced to build the terminal's customer service areas.

What impact do you think the project will have on Glen Cove? Tell us in the comments.

I have been waiting for this Ferry a long time, I hate the commute on L.I.E. to the city, and I hate the L.I.R.R. schedule. I want to believe that the Ferry would be a nice option and faster way of getting into the city.

Nancy, At what price? Affordable to most commuters?? I doubt it and you know it. People let's get real it is only for the 1% .

Where is the ferry going to dock in Manhattan? I work in midtown. The last time I checked there wasn't a dock in Rockefeller Center. If it docks on the east side in 30's or down in the financial district, you still have to get to your office. There is no benefit unless you work in nearby neighborhoods. You better off sticking with the train and either walking or taking the subway once you get to Penn.

Someone should explain that to the mayor and city council. Or do they have a vested interest? Someone is going to make money on this deal and leave the city with an empty ferry terminal and debt to match, because nothing is free. Especially in glen cove!!
