Santino Hosting 'Town Hall' Meeting in East Rockaway

Representatives from different Town of Hempstead departments will be on hand to address issues in community.

Hempstead Town Senior Councilman Anthony Santino will join Village of East Rockaway Mayor Fran Lenahan in hosting a joint Town Hall Meeting on April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at East Rockaway Village Hall.

Santino and Lenahan will discuss important community issues and be available to answer questions and concerns from local residents.

Representatives from different Town of Hempstead departments will be on hand to address issues in the community.

Councilman Santino will be joined by the Town of Hempstead Building Department, which will be on hand to answer questions and explain how the town has expedited its permitting process to help residents repair their homes.

This includes waiving building permit fees for “in-kind” reconstruction (for residents of unincorporated areas) and replacement of Sandy-damaged homes, as well as eliminating a town requirement that homeowners obtain a variance prior to increasing their home’s foundation height to comply with FEMA flood height guidelines. Also, permit fees are waived for homeowners using a temporary trailer during construction.

East Rockaway Village Hall is located at 376 Atlantic Ave. in East Rockaway.

“I would like to thank East Rockaway Mayor Fran Lenahan for his assistance in holding this important town hall meeting for our residents,” Santino said. “Together with members of our community, we can rebuild East Rockaway.”

Those that attend Mr. Santino's meeting should ask him why the Town Board did NOT send a mailing or even an email regarding the Town's redistricting meeting.
