Solages Takes Democratic Primary

Has chance to represent part of Malverne Park Oaks in New York Assembly.

Democratic party-endorsed candidate Michaelle Solages beat out two competitors with 82 percent of the vote to become the nominee in the 22nd Assembly District.

The Elmont Democrat will face North Valley Stream Republican Sean Wright, the deputy attorney for the Town of Hempstead, in the Nov. 6 general election.

Solages, the sister of first-term Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages, beat civic activist Milagros Vicente, of Valley Stream, and Patricia Maher in Thursday's primary. Michaelle Solages was also victorious on the Working Families line over Gary D'Annunzio with 60 percent of the vote.
