VIDEO: Journey To... Crossroads Farm at Grossmann's

Host Steve Strangio takes us to a rural Malverne landmark.

In this week's episode, Steve 'journeys to' in Malverne, a slice of rural America in the middle of suburbia.

Here he met up with Lisa Mitten, a consultant for the farm, and farmer Bill Walsh, who gave us tour of the grounds and discussed the significance of its new name.

Nassau County purchased the plot of land back in 2006 that was formerly the family-owned Grossmann's Farm and with the help of the Nassau Land Trust, an independent 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, it is beginning to thrive once again, offering some of the best organic produce on Long Island.

According to Mitten, Crossroads, which is certified by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York, "is riding a wave of community support from its volunteers from the village of Malverne, across South Nassau, and really all of Nassau County."
