West Hempstead Remembers Veterans Who Gave All [Photos]

West Hempstead honored the sacrifices of U.S. veterans with its annual Memorial Day Parade Monday. Soldiers and scouts, community leaders, firefighters and other residents marched down Eagle Avenue, around and up Nassau Boulevard to Echo Park to the beat of marching bands from the local schools and two volunteer fire departments.

Following the parade, a ceremony was held to honor the brave service men and women who gave their lives in defense of of their country.
