The announced transaction of the Seaford Pathmark property for $48.76 million as part of a three-grocery store portfolio will have no impact on the supermarket chain's operation on 4055 Merrick Road, a spokeswoman for the company emphasized on Friday.
"The title to the property has changed hands, which has no impact on our store," said Joanne Joanne Fischetti, spokeswoman for The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, which operates Pathmark stores throughout the U.S. "Pathmark continues to occupy the building, and we will continue to provide the excellent products and services that our neighborhood customers expect."
The three-grocery store portfolio, which was sold by Concord, Mass.-based Winstanley Enterprises to Inland Real Estate Group of Oakbrook, Ill., includes three buildings leased to Pathmark in Seaford, Upper Darby, Pa. and Wilmington, Del. The three buildings total 142,663 square feet and have about 18 years remaining on lease terms. The price per square foot totals approximately $342.
