Athletic Complex Proposition Voted Down

Controversial ballot item fails by more than 400 votes.

The Lynbrook community came out against the board's proposal to use capital reserve money for an athletic field at South Middle School.

The proposition failed with 1,390 residents voting against it and 939 supporting it.

As a result, the Lynbrook School District will keep the $5.1 million currently remaining in its capital reserves heading into next year.
