Check Out Malverne's New Turf Field [Video and Photos]

The artificial turf field at Malverne High School is complete and ready for Saturday's home game and dedication ceremony.

Malverne High School's new turf field is ready for action.

Patch paid a visit to the site Friday afternoon and spotted crews still working on the school's practice fields and a new set of bleachers, but the artificial turf field was complete. on the athletic facilities over the summer after the school received state approval for this phase of the project residents passed in November. (The second phase, also known as Proposition #1, will begin soon.)

Walking across the artificial turf you could hear the "crunch" of the fake grass and see the freshly painted lines and the orange-and-blue "Mules" in each endzone, all set for Saturday's first varsity home game on the newly refurbished field.
