Chestnut Street School Hosting 100th Anniversary Celebration

Students, parents, community members and staff are invited to share memories of West Hempstead School District experiences for the district’s Chestnut Street School 100 Years Celebration.

Festivities are scheduled to commence on May 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will include:

  • Old Fashion Carnival Games
  • Music of the Early 1900s
  • Historical Community Exhibits
  • Time Capsule Creation
  • Book Swap – Bring a book/Take a book for all ages
The school district is also looking for volunteers to be part of its memories video montage, which will be displayed during the celebration. Stories about your teachers, coaches, classmates and those moments that residents experienced within the district are welcomed.

If you are interested in partaking in our video montage, please contact Michelle Notti, Principal of Chestnut Street School, at 516-390-3150, by May 1 to arrange for an interview.
