Cornwell Teacher Earns Doctorate from St. John’s

The following is from the West Hempstead School District:

Walk into Ailene Cavaliere’s fourth-grade classroom and more often than not you’ll be bombarded with an energetic and high-pitched, “Morning!”

Students are welcomed into the school by an enthusiastic and caring teacher who has been in West Hempstead for more than 10 years.

But something recently changed in the way students address her, when on April 3, Mrs. Cavaliere became Dr. Cavaliere.

For the past three years, Dr. Cavaliere has been working tirelessly on completing her Ed.D. in instructional leadership from St. John’s University. This accolade is the culmination of years of high-level education that began more than 18 years ago.

Graduating with her bachelor’s degree from St. John’s, Dr. Cavaliere moved on to Stony Brook University where she earned an impressive master’s degree in Educational Technology working closely with Dr. Tian-Lih Teng on completion of her thesis.

More recently, Dr. Cavaliere traveled to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where in 2007 she was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership.
