Curran Hosts Second Annual Summer Safety Program

Assemblyman Brian Curran and Lynbrook Mayor William Hendrick joined together earlier this week at the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center.

Assemblyman Brian Curran, Lynbrook - 14th AD, sponsored his second annual Summer Safety Program at the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center earlier this week.

"Summer is a much anticipated time in New York after our long and customarily frigid winters," Curran said. "We get to barbeque again, go swimming, fishing and spend time outdoors with our families. However, many of us do not have the luxury our children do of getting a whole summer off to enjoy some of our favorite activities."

Lynbrook Mayor William J. Hendrick joined Assemblyman Curran to put on this second annual Summer Safety Program for bike, playground and pool safety, including basic daily safety tips.

Also in attendance were the Lynbrook Police Department and representatives from the Lynbrook Pool. Each student in attendance at the Kindergarten Center received a gift certificate for a Carvel ice cream cone to enjoy while observing the safety tips learned at the program.

"As a father of three, I appreciated all the helpful input our local police, life guards, school professionals and local professionals provided to ensure a safer summer for our children," Curran said. "I, for one, feel safer and happier knowing the extent of vigilance and commitment our local authorities and life guards have for the welfare of our children this summer."
