Bring A Veteran to School Day

Lynbrook’s Waverly Park School will be hosting its first annual “Bring A Veteran to School Day.” Students have invited family members of all ages who have served in the military to visit classrooms to share their experiences and answer questions.

Among the guests will be some recent West Point graduates and a WWII veteran who fought in the Invasion of Normandy. Students will unveil a Wall of Peace, made of paper bricks that express their ideas about peace, honor, respect, tolerance and loyalty. They will present their special guests with flowers and cards to express their gratitude.

The Waverly Park School Community, joined by relatives of all ages who have served in the military, from West Point cadets to WWII vets.
