Jan. 3: Schools Re-Open, Kindergarten Registration
A look at today's top events and announcements for the area.
- All schools and public buildings will re-open today after being closed Monday for New Year.
- Lynbrook Public Schools takes place today at the Central Administration Offices, located at 111 Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook. Children are eligible to enter kindergarten if they are residents of the Lynbrook Public Schools and they are five years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2012.

- East Rockaway residents: A for a potential override of the state's two percent tax cap will be held at Village Hall on Jan. 9, 2012, at 8 p.m.
