LHS Leadership/Key Club Helps Those in Need

Members of the Lynbrook High School Leadership/Key Club organized two
spring fundraisers, collecting gently used toys and prom dresses to help those in need.

Club members Brandon Butwin, Brian Koffler and Kacey Carter organized a
toy drive, enlisting every school in the district to collect gently used toys. The toys were donated to Second Chance Toys, a non-profit organization that rescues and recycles plastic toys for needy children, while at the same time helping the environment.

In a separate initiative, Club member Samantha Goldberg organized a drive to
collect gently used prom dresses for the Long Island Volunteer Center’s annual Prom Boutique held at Nassau Community College. The Prom Boutique helps high school students on Long Island who can't afford dresses for their proms, graduation or sweet sixteen parties, giving them gowns, shoes, accessories and free alterations.
