Maya Donoso Alegre, a first grader at Lynbrook's Marion Street School, has been named a winner in the Nassau Reading Council's 2012 Young Authors' Contest. She has been invited to read her winning entry — a personal narrative about a frightening experience — at an awards ceremony at Molloy College on June 4.
