Lynbrook HS Jazz Band Performs at All-State Conference

The band was chosen to perform as the featured ensemble at the conference.

The Jazz Band, under the direction of Brian White, was chosen to perform as the featured high school jazz ensemble at the 2011 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Conference.

Before a packed house of 500 music teachers and administrators in the Lilac Ballroom of the Rochester Convention Center, the group performed music by jazz legends Dave Lalama, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Quincy Jones and Vernon Duke.

The band qualified for this unique honor by submitting an audition recording and band bio/resume.
