Lynbrook HS to Hold Bake Sale to Fight Childhood Hunger

The culinary arts club bake sale and cupcake competition takes place on Monday, 2:45 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

 

The culinary arts club will be joining in on the fight to end childhood hunger as they will hold a bake sale and cupcake competition in the high school cafeteria on Monday, April 23 at 2:45 p.m.

The "Cupcake War to Fight Hunger" is a national campaign that takes place all across the country, where community members hold bakes sales in their respective communities.

The bake sale/cupcake competition will see club members, students, staff and community members competing in a challenge. Contestants will sell their entered cupcakes to raise money for "Share our Strength," and judges will choose the winning cupcake at 3:30 pm.

Share Our Strength is a national nonprofit, which aims to end childhood hunger in America by "connecting children with the nutritious food they need to lead healthy, active lives."

According to a press release, nearly 1 in 5 children across the country struggle with hunger, more than 16 million kids.
