Lynbrook Kindergartners Catch Super Bowl Fever

Football-themed games a fun time for kids, but also help them learn athletics.

 

The gymnasium at the was transformed into a pint-sized Super Bowl, as kindergartners donned their favorite team jerseys for a week of football-themed games during their physical education classes.

To get the school into the Super Bowl Spirit, a giant blow-up figure, aptly named Gerry the Giant, adorned the gymnasium. Physical education teacher Brian Bowes led his classes in football relays and a football obstacle course.

While the children just thought they were having fun, they were really practicing hand-eye coordination, teamwork, listening comprehension and proper handling of a football.
