Lynbrook Marketing Students Explore Stadium Design

Students check out Yankee Stadium, Citi Field.

Students in Lynbrook High School’s Advertising and Marketing class took a stadium tour field trip, as part of a unit of study on stadium design as an aspect of sports marketing.

The students started the day with a tour of Yankee Stadium. They visited Monument Park, the Yankee Museum, and the Yankee Clubhouse, where they saw all of the players’ lockers. Next, they enjoyed brunch at the Hard Rock Café at Yankee Stadium.

The day continued with a tour of Citi Field. Students saw all of the restaurants inside the stadium, sat in a corporate luxury box and the press box, took a tour of the clubhouse, and sat in the Mets dugout. They even got to pose as the Mets manager in the "hot seat" of the press conference room.

“It was a great day where students experienced real-world connections to many
of the topics they studied in class,” said teacher Susan Ehrlich. “Tour guides not only discussed the history of the teams, but showed students real promotions, corporate sponsorships, pricing, broadcasting, sports journalism, and merchandising. It was a lesson that students will remember for a lifetime.”
