The Lynbrook School District launched an iPad pilot program at and in February.
Each school will have one cart of laptops that can be used for instruction in the Library Media Center or as part of regular classroom instruction. During an initial exploratory period, teachers met with library media specialists and staff developers to investigate ways they can use free apps and books to enhance learning.
In the first few weeks of the program, students have already used “QR” codes take a virtual trip to Manhattan. They also used their iPads to access Google Earth to view Civil War battlefields as they appear today.
