Since there is no opposition to the incumbents for the Board of Education, there will be no Meet the Candidates Night on May 7, 2012, according to the Lynbrook Schools website.

Absentee Ballots

Pursuant to Section 2018-a of the Education Law of the State of New York, absentee ballots may be cast for the election of members of the Board of Education and budget. Information pertaining to applications for absentee ballots for the District election to be held on May 15, 2012 may be obtained by calling the District Clerk at (516) 887-6558.

Who Is Eligible to Vote?

1. Any person who voted at a school district election any time during the 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011 calendar years.

2. Any person registered to vote in any general election in Nassau County, who has voted at least once during the last four years.

3. Any person who registers with the District Clerk, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., up to and including May 9, 2012, or who registers with the Board of Registration of the Lynbrook Union Free School District on the registration day to be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. at or 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at and Middle Schools.
